How to Turn a Regular Toilet Into a Bidet

Bidet toilet seat is a French invention that is the replacement of toilet paper. Bidet is also a French word that means water sprayer. It is a nice way to clean yourself after finishing the toilet. You could save toilet paper by using this. This is also more hygienic than toilet paper.

Before we start, I want to remind you, that you don’t need a plumber to install a bidet toilet seat. It’s a very easy process. There are different bidet brands are available in the market. But the main process is almost the same.

Things We Need:

• A Bidet Toilet Seat
• Screwdriver
• Adjustable Wrench
• Dry Cloth

Installing Process from A Regular Toilet Into a Bidet

1. Turn off the water blub and flush the toilet.
2. Open the caps behind the toilet seat and unscrew the nut to remove it.
3. Mount the bidet seat properly to the toilet and put the old seat back.
4. Remove the hose connected to the water tank and connect the adapter.
5. Reconnect the hose pipe and insert the tube.

Turn Off the Water Blub and Flush the Toilet

We have to ensure that the water bulb is turned off. A water bulb is available beside the toilet. Then, we have to flush the toilet to release all the water out. The flush button is available near the toilet.

Open the Caps Behind the Toilet Seat and Unscrew the Nut to Remove It

We have to remove the old toilet seat to install the new bidet. The toilet seat is attached to the rim with a plastic cover and screw. Use your screwdriver to unscrew the nut. Now, lift the seat up to remove it and keep it in a safe place. Some company provides toilet seat with the Biden, but few companies don’t. So check your product box for the details.

Mount the Bidet Seat Properly to The Toilet and Put the old Seat Back.

It is very easy to mount the bidet seat on the toilet. Position the bidet seat back of the rim and adjust it to fit the toilet. The water spray outlet should be close to the back of the toilet wall but not touching the bowl. Now, if your bidet doesn’t come with a toilet seat, then place your old toilet seat back on the bidet seat. Use the screwdriver to tighten the nut.

Remove the Hose Connected to The Water Tank and Connect the Adapter.

Remove the hose-connected water tank and install the adapter. Use the wrench to remove the hose pipe if needed. A small amount of water might leak out. Use a dry cloth to wipe the pipe. 

Reconnect the Hose Pipe and Insert the Tube.

Now, reconnect the hose pipe to the bottom of the adapter. Insert the small tube into the adapter and another side to the water inlet. Now, You have successfully turned your regular toilet into a bidet.
